Key Players

Marty Iker, is well-known and widely-respected as one of the most successful, creative and innovative marketing and branding talents in the television industry. He became President/Creative Director of Tri-Crown Creative Group in October of 1997 after 9 successful years with Warner Bros. as Vice President Marketing & Advertising.

Since then, Tri-Crown Creative Group has established itself as a major force in the television marketing, branding and advertising arenas, establishing a prestigous client roster that includes most of the major television studios and cable networks.

Iker's unit at Warner Bros developed breakthru brand identities and produced all on-air promotion, video presentations, pilot presentations, videowalls and many radio and television commercials for Warner's numerous divisions. Now he provides those services to the industry at large.

Born in Chicago, Iker became interested and involved in broadcasting in high school when he attended a summer program in television production. Combining his interest and talents in creative writing and theatre with his newfound TV skills, Iker went on to design, build and run a video production studio at Grinnell College (Iowa).

After completing an M.S. in Telecommunications at Indiana University (Bloomington), where he also taught courses in Television Production, Iker started his career in commercial broadcasting as Creative Director at KCAU-TV (ABC) in Soiux City. Then, as Promotion Director at KMSP-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul, he helped that station make the transition from struggling affiliate to one of the nation's top-rated independents. In the same role, he helped sign on and establish KTXA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth and KTXH-TV in Houston as major independents in their respective markets.

Three struggling NBC stations have also benefited from Iker's expertise. As Marketing Director, he rebranded WDIV-TV in Detroit and WLWT-TV in Cincinnati and helped them move from the bottom to the top of their markets. As Creative Director at KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, his rebranding efforts helped the station knock off longtime market leader KABC and move to #1 sign-on to sign-off and in all news time periods.

In addition to his ratings successes, Iker has been honored with numerous creative awards and has spearheaded some of the most memorable branding campaigns in the business. He has a reputation as an innovative, "hands-on" problem solver, an inspiring leader who combines outstanding creative and marketing skills with superb management, fiscal and organizational skills.
